LINUXSHELL

Serving FREE and Sponsored Linux shell accounts since 2005. Free remote internet access for everyone !

WHAT IS A SHELL ACCOUNT ?

A shell account is a user account on a remote server which gives access to a shell via a command-line interface protocol such as telnet or ssh. You can read more about it on Wikipedia article.

BEHIND THE IDEA

My idea is to provide free remote internet access to everyone from everywhere on the planet. most of our users come from less developed areas and some dont even have the chance to use internet at home or in a close area where they live.

TELL ME WHY YOU WANT A FREE SHELL ACCOUNT

Each month I will grant one person a free shell account, if you will write the explanation how you could benefit from it. Please include the description and tell things about yourself and where/how you live and how you get internet access. You can include one or more photos of yourself. The story has to be at least 150 words long, and I will publish it on my website. Send the story to my E-mail address janprunk@gmail.com with the Subject: SHELL STORY

DONATIONS

In order to be able to provide this kind of service, I am looking for your support. Server equipment and internet access is expenssive. While I would like to expand the FREE service to be hosted on great connectivity inside datacenters, I can currently only do that for Subscription shells. 50 % of your incoming donations will be used for expanding this project, while another 50 % will be used for charity, like projects that promote computer/internet education in undeveloped areas. One of them, where I will donate is One Linux Per Child project. You can send your donations to my Linuxshell Pledgie fundraising campaign. Please be advised not to send less than 5 EUR, otherwise the processing fees will just "take" all your money.

A CALL FOR SPONSORS

I am looking for partial sponsors for my project. You can sponsor in several ways. By signing up with a sponsor subscription plan or donating your unused PC/server hardware to be able to expand my services. Very appreciated would be 19" rack equipment which can be used at datacentres.

WISHLIST

I have designed a wishlist of items, which can be purchased through Amazon website. Every purchase from the wish list counts as donation.
